In the summer of 2024, I took my first trip to a national park. I can’t believe it took me this long in life to go, and if you’ve ever considered going to a national park, just go. It is an amazing experience.
On one of my hikes, I came across this raven. I wanted to get a picture of it flying in the park. I have many, many examples of trying to get this picture and failing. Towards the end of the hike, back near the main road, the raven decided to land on a wood fence about 15 feet from me.
I quickly got my camera back out, and the raven was patient enough to sit and wait while I did. It just perched there for several minutes. Allowing me time to take a picture and even walk a bit closer. It eventually flew off and this picture was the final result.
Raven was taken in August 2024 at Zion National Park with a Sony a6000 and a 55-210mm lens. It has been edited in Adobe Lightroom.
